The publication cites a "major Apple investor" as the source of the alleged launch date, as well as confirmation that the scaled down tablet is in development.
Apple's iPad Mini is said to feature a 7.85-inch screen and a housing made from carbon fibre reinforced plastic. It has been tipped to launch with a price tag of around £200, according to Trusted Reviews.
Analysts have touted the device as a rival for Amazon's Kindle Fire range and Google's Asus-manufacturer Nexus 7 tablet, which sport similar dimension and price points.
Apple is expected to send out invites for the product's launch around October 10.
