Sky to show Superbowl in HD

Super Bowl XLI will be the first US sports event and the sixth sport to be screened in HD by the broadcaster, with the first Super League match also in HD on February 4.
The event is known for its pre-game and halftime shows with Prince set to perform at next year's game in Miami. Previous performers have included U2, Paul McCartney, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.
In September, Sky Sports announced a four year deal to show NFL live games and supporting programmes.
The first HD sports broadcast in the UK was Sky Sports’ coverage of England B vs Belarus B on May 24, followed by HD coverage of the international and domestic cricket season, Barclays Premiership, UEFA Champions League and Coca Cola League football, Guinness Premiership and international Rugby Union and The 36th Ryder Cup.
