'Star Wars: The Old Republic' Blade laptop unveiled by Razer

Razer has launched a Star Wars: The Old Republic-branded edition of its Blade laptop.

The limited-edition aluminium-clad machine features a yellow backlit keyboard and is decorated with official fonts and laser-etched designs from the BioWare multiplayer online game.

The £9,000 gaming laptop is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.8Ghz, and has 8GB RAM on board. It also packs a 17.3-inch Full HD display at 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Weighing in at 7lbs and measuring up at under 1 inch thin, the Razer Blade also boasts an Nvidia GeForce 660M with 2GB RAM, along with a 64GB SSD and 500GB hard drive.

A dual-trackpad and separate colour LCD display allow users to run apps while gaming and take advantage of dual screen features.

"Star Wars provides the benchmark by which all entertainment media is measured, and the Razer Blade is the standard for true portability, power and innovation in PC gaming," said Razer president Robert Krakoff.

"The opportunity to work with LucasArts and BioWare on this fun project is a testament to our common love of great entertainment and ensuring the best possible experience for fans."

The standard Razer Blade laptop retails at $2,499.99 and is only available to purchase in the US and Canada. Razer is giving away the Star Wars model in a sweepstake it is running via its website.
