"This is a huge moment for Lovefilm and continues to expand our multi-platform offering - delivering the very best content onto the most popular devices, which can only be great news for film and TV fans."

Lovefilm for Kindle Fire is backed by a number of unique features, such as Whispersync support to keep track of the user's progress across multiple devices, and the IMDB-powered X-Ray For Movies supplementary service.

Amazon launched the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD in the UK today (October 25) alongside the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader.
