Pixar has honoured the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs by naming its main building after him.

Junn Lee, an employee with the Toy Story studio, posted a photo of the 'The Steve Jobs Building' with its new banner on Twitter earlier this week.

Jobs is credited with helping Pixar become the force it is today in the animation sector. The tech mastermind helped keep the company afloat in the mid-'80s with multi-million dollar investment.

He went on to become its chairman, and later CEO, before selling the firm to Disney for $7.4 billion in 2006.

There have been numerous tributes and memorials to Jobs since his passing, including the naming of a street after him in the Brazilian city of Jundiai.

Jobs passed away last year at the age of 55 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
