RIM will release two mobile handsets that day - one being a full touchscreen phone, the other a new entry in its BlackBerry Bold line.

BlackBerry 10 is considered by many to be the struggling phone maker's last chance to remain profitable after a year of financial turmoil, sharp sales decline and reputation-damaging outages.

The company claims that 50 global carriers have pledged their support to its upcoming devices, and developer backing is said to be extensive.

"Thanks to our strong partnerships with global carriers and a growing ecosystem of developers, we believe our customers will have the best experience possible with BlackBerry 10," said CEO Thorsten Heins.

"We are looking forward to getting BlackBerry 10 in the hands of our customers around the world."

Moreover, BlackBerry director of business development Volker Hirsch recently told Digital Spy that its latest mobile platform will be the easiest for developers to port games to.
