The Acer AC710 Chromebook will sport a similar form factor to the Aspire V5-171 notebook and run the Chrome operating system, MiniMachines reports.
Full hardware specs are yet to be officially announced, but the machine will allegedly be powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and feature an 11.6-inch display. Hard drive space is expected to be limited as Chromebooks traditionally rely on cloud storage.
The Chrome operating system is a web-based platform, that requires an ever-present internet connection, designed to complement Google's portfolio of services, such as Drive, Maps and Gmail.
Google teamed up with Samsung last month to release an 11.6-inch Chromebook with an economical price tag of $249, dubbing it a "computer for everyone".
Pricing and a release date for the The Acer AC710 Chromebook are yet to be announced.
