'Fenton the dog' goes superfast in EE 4G video

By
The famous 'Fenton' YouTube video that went viral last year has been "remade and remastered" by EE to promote its superfast 4G mobile service.

The 'Fenton' remake is intended to demonstrate how EE's 4G mobile makes watching HD videos on the go "even better".

It is released almost a year after the original 'Fenton' video went viral, featuring a frantic dog owner running after his labrador after it decided to chase some stag in a park.

Shot by a 13-year-old boy on his mobile phone, the original clip has racked up almost 7.5m hits to date.

The remastered version, shot in full HD, features Fenton not only chasing after a herd of stags, but also an elephant, ostrich, a unicorn and a pre-historic T-Rex.

The new video is posted on the EE YouTube channel, alongside the original Fenton video. It will also be shown in EE retail stores and EE roadshows in early 2013.

Jake Goodyear, the now 14-year-old boy who shot the original 47-second clip, said: "It's amazing to see what a quiet walk in the park this time last year has produced.

"The original video became the top trending topic on Twitter and now that EE has taken it to the next level, I can't wait to see how many people share this remastered version."

EE director of brand Spencer McHugh added: "As there is arguably no YouTube video more epic than 'Fenton', we wanted to make it even more epic by creating our own remastered version - so it can be enjoyed on the go on superfast 4G, in all its epic glory."
