Virgin rolls out V+ software update

Virgin Media has rolled out a software update to its V+ high definition personal video recorder.
The update, which takes the application version on V+ HD boxes to 11.1.10_ukcable, included a variety of fixes designed to improve performance.
A Virgin Media spokesperson provided the following list of changes made in the update:
Errors on Recordings
A bug that could lead to recordings being incorrectly deleted from the hard disk during a box reset has been fixed.
Improved picture quality
A bug that in certain circumstances could cause the picture to jump or skip has been fixed. We are aware that at other times this issue may still occur and are working hard to fix it completely.
SCART Output in HD Mode
The VCR SCART output for live TV has been disabled when your V+ box is in HDMI mode. This is because the picture quality on the VCR SCART was very poor if HDMI was the main output. This does not affect the ability to archive recordings.
PIN Protection
Recordings from PIN protected channels such as Sky Movies 9 and 10 will now follow watershed hours.
Series Link 'yellow button' in Mini-Guide
The yellow series link button will now only be displayed in mini-guide when a working series link exists.
The spokesperson added that the television team "are naturally continuing to investigate a few other known bugs which remain and will continue to deliver fixes as they develop them."
