Sony discontinued its revolutionary Walkman cassette players some years ago, but its recording devices have remained popular among journalists and students.

The current batch of TCM-400, TCM-410 and TCM-450 devices will be the last ever to be produced.

Despite winding down its production of all tape-based products, Sony will continue to support the CD/Cassette Boombox players for the time being.

Sony is yet to officially confirm the discontinuation of its tape recorder line.
