Yota Devices has unveiled a dual-screen Android phone with an e-ink display on the rear.

"Technology is setting the tone of our lives rather than the other way around," said the Russian firm in a press release. "We at Yota Devices aim to rebalance the relationship with our smartphone."

The e-ink display will also serve the user automatic news and social media updates, as well as notifications, appointment reminders and more.

Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor, the YotaPhone runs Google's latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and boasts a 12-megapixel camera on the rear and a HD snapper on the front.

The handset, which runs off a 2,100mAH battery and comes with 32GB or 64GB storage options, will be formally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February next year.
