LG Optimus G Pro to debut in April

LG's Optimus G Pro smartphone will debut in Japan in April.

Asian service provider NTT Docomo confirmed details of the Android device's release date and revealed its specs.

Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Optimus Pro features a 5-inch 1080p IPS display and is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM.

The handset also comes with 32GB of internal memory, a microSD slot and support for Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC connectivity.

LG previously announced that the phone's predecessor, the Optimus G, will be released in the UK and 49 additional territories by the end of January.

A Western release date for the LG Optimus G Pro is expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress next month.
