Virgin Media has chosen ITV Local service provider Narrowstep to provide management and playout services for its internet TV channels.
Content grouped into five genres - Gaming, Knowledge, Movies, Sport and TV - is available on the service. A mix of programming from Virgin Media Television channels including Living and Bravo is included.
"We set out to take the best of both worlds – the linear viewing experience of TV and the interactive two-way experience of broadband – to play out the video content people want to watch with browsing and click through opportunities, archive access and advertising," said Jason Boswell, acting head of commercial development for virginmedia.com. "Narrowstep provided us with the industry-leading technology platform to do so."
