Samsung launches Galaxy Note 8.0

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note 8.0 ahead of this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The 8-inch tablet runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and comes with a 1280x800-pixel screen and 16GB or 32GB of storage, which can be increased up to 64GB with a microSD card.

The tablet houses a 1.6GHz A9 quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera (plus a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera) and 2GB of RAM. It also supports Samsung's stylus the S Pen.

Other specifications include HSPA+ support, dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4 and a 4,600mAh battery.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 allows multi-window mode and comes preloaded with software including Flipboard and Awesome Note. It can also make and receive phone calls.

The product will be available in the UK in the second quarter of 2013, with pricing expected to be announced soon.
