Granada Breeze will close on January 31st for digital terrestrial viewers, Digital Spy can confirm.
Contrary to speculation, the closure on ITV Digital will not affect the channel's broadcast on Sky Digital and cable.
An ITV Digital source told Digital Spy: "Granada Breeze (channel 31) will no longer be broadcast by ITV Digital after 31st January. Granada Men and Motors will continue to broadcast on channel 31 after this date and the broadcast of this channel is not affected by the Granada Breeze closure on this platform."
Rumours that the channel would be dropped from the lineup first emerged in December last year, although a date was not given. Days later, GSB confirmed to DS that they were still in negotiations with ITV Digital for continued carriage of the station - along with sister channels Men & Motors and Plus.
The axing of Granada Breeze makes room for at least one more channel on the platform, although ITV Digital are yet to announce details of new additions. Stick with Digital Spy for all the latest.
