Orange, T-Mobile top Ofcom complaints list

By
Orange and T-Mobile have been named as the two most complained about service providers in the UK by industry regulator Ofcom.

The watchdog confirmed that Orange has more disgruntled customers than any other operator in the mobile and broadband categories, with T-Mobile coming second in both.

Orange's decision to withdraw its offer of free broadband and force customers to start paying line rental fees was attributed to its unpopularity, with the number of complaints per 1000 customers rising in the last three months of 2012 compared to the previous quarter.

T-Mobile customers' main gripes were over monthly billing and the manner in which the network handles users complaints.

Meanwhile, TalkTalk continues to attract more negative feedback than any other landline service provider, despite the volume of complaints about the network having gradually declined since 2011.

Ofcom named O2 as the least complained about mobile operator, while Sky has the best record in the broadband market.

Overall, the total volume of complaints made to the regulator continued to fall during the final quarter of 2012, making it the sixth consecutive quarter of decline.
