Scores of Sky customers have been flooded with old emails after the operator switched email providers.

The broadcaster recently dropped Google in favour of partnering with Yahoo, but the changeover has resulted in many subscribers having a large volume of deleted emails redelivered.

Sky's support forums have been inundated with complaints from disgruntled users, some of whom spent hours deleting thousands of old messages that were resent multiple times.

Other customers reported that their settings have been wiped, aliases deleted and filters reset since Sky switched over to Yahoo.

Sky has acknowledged the issues and launched an investigation into the matter, pledging to provide users with an update this evening (April 5).

Account holders are advised to login via the web-based version of Sky's email service to minimise the chance of the issues affecting them.
