With £1.6 billion worth of football rights under its belt, including Premier League matches and FA Cup coverage, BT Sport would be the second broadcaster to make its content available through the £30 HDMI dongle, which launched in the UK two weeks ago.

At present, BBC iPlayer is the only UK broadcaster on board the device, alongside services from YouTube, Google Play Movies and Netflix.

Sky recently confirmed that it is considering bringing its NOW TV service to Google Chromecast.
