@CaseyNewton Cool, thanks. By the way, I have no idea whether Apple is planning wrist thing for September or October, just making a joke.— John Gruber (@gruber) August 9, 2014
Original story: Apple could be planning to unveil a wearable on September 9, alongside the iPhone 6.
According to well-connected Apple blogger John Gruber, the iPhone maker will show off its first wearable device at the event.
iWatch rumour roundup: Release date, features, specifications and more
Gruber has previously predicted other Apple news which turned out to be correct, such as last year's iPhone 5S and 5C.
Amid a criticism of the Moto 360's "stupid flat-tire display shape", Gruber says: "The only way this could get funnier would be if it doesn't even ship until after Apple announces their wrist wearable thing next month."
Rumours of an iWatch have been circulating for several years. Recent reports suggest that the device could launch under the moniker of 'iTime'.
