The card, a play on the cult "Test Card F" from the BBC, is being shown on most ITV Digital channels after closedown.
"I remember the test card from when I was a kid. The girls eyes used to follow you around the room and I tried to make mine do the same, but just ended up hurting myself," said Johnny Vegas, who plays Al in the commercials.
" People can't get enough of Al and Monkey," an ITV Digital spokesman explained, "so we thought we would bring back this classic test card to brighten things up when some of our channels go off air. For the record Monkey won the game of noughts and crosses."
