Sky and Streets Online are slashing the cost of CDs this Bank Holiday weekend. Starting tomorrow (Friday), any CD album in the Top 30 pop music chart can be bought for just £5.99 each - a fraction of the high street price - from Audiostreet's site at www.sky.com/skybuy. Skybuy is Sky's online shopping directory.
The offer lasts from this Friday, 28 April, to the end of Monday, 1 May. All Top 30 albums cost £5.99, with free postage and packaging in the UK.
There is something to suit all tastes in music, with artistes ranging from top-seller Moby, to Santana, S Club 7, Westlife, Mel C, Shania Twain, Sisqo ... and even Status Quo and Engelbert Humperdinck.
In conjunction with this offer, consumers will also be able to take advantage of a special 'half price' Sky digital installation offer - £20 off the installation of a free minidish and digibox.
The promotion is a major salvo in Sky's move to become an increasingly key player in internet e-commerce. Sky.com/skybuy
A seven-day marketing blitz began this week with "pop-up" teasers counting down the days until the offer. The campaign also encompasses 30-second commercials promoting the offer on Sky's TV channels both to residential subscribers and to out-of-home audiences in pubs and clubs; advertisements in national newspapers; and banner ads on internet search engines. An aggressive viral marketing campaign will play a significant role in bringing the message to online consumers.
A Sky spokesman said: "Sky's digital TV service has offered British consumers a revolution in viewing choice. By uncovering the best online deals, we now aim to serve up the best value on the web."
