NetPlay TV has announced the launch of a live, interactive bingo TV game designed to tempt smokers staying home from smoke-free bingo halls.

Big Box Bingo will air every Tuesday evening, starting tonight, at 8pm on Sky channel 157. Players will receive cards through the post, via newspaper inserts and online, with ages verified either online or over the phone. Six games of bingo will air per show, each costing £1.50. Cash prizes are available on a line and a full house basis and players getting a full house in 35 balls or less win a house jackpot of £100,000.

"Seventy per cent of people who play bingo smoke," said NetPlay TV chairman and CEO Martin Higginson. "Big Box Bingo provides the perfect environment for bingo fans - after all, there's nothing easier than switching on your TV. This is truly a world first. Big Box Bingo combines the flexibility of the internet with the trusted medium of television. People have been talking about interactive broadcasting for more than 20 years. There's never been anything like this."
