900 jobs go at ITV Digital call centre

Around 900 jobs are to go at ITV Digital's Welsh call centre in Pembroke, following the decision of management contractors 7C and Manpower to stop funding. Staff were informed with the news earlier this afternoon, with the majority being let go at midnight tomorrow evening.
Now the fate of a further 600 workers - employed directly by ITV Digital - based in the Plymouth call centre looks even more uncertain.
One Pembroke source told the Media Guardian: "We were given the impression the other call centre would also close before long and withdrawing customer services altogether would seem to suggest the end of ITV Digital."
More details on the demise of ITV Digital are available on Digital Spy.
