Sky News Active from June 26

The long-awaited launch of Sky News Active will go ahead this Monday, June 26th, it has been confirmed.
The service will be available to SkyDigital customers only, similar to Sky Sports' accompanying service Sky Sports Extra. It can be accessed by pressing the red button on the SkyDigital remote whilst on channel 501 (the main Sky News feed).

Features of the service will include:

The service layout (pictured above) has changed dramatically compared to the initial test shots revealed exclusively on digiNEWS back in November.
The service will be expanded later this year to incorporate extra facilities such as polls currently available at Sky News online (which will also be revamped this Autumn).
Nick Pollard, Sky News head, said, "News Active is another powerful tool in Sky's armoury, along with our 24-hour channel, online news and radio service. Sky News Active marks a key stage in the development of our news services being made available to all consumers - however they wish to receive them."

- Watch or read the latest news items
- Several screens providing world, weather, business and showbiz news
- Live events uninterrupted
- The main Sky News feed in the bottom right hand corner
