Football League chiefs resign

The fallout from the collapse of DTT pay-TV provider ITV Digital is continuing to roll on, as both the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Football League announce their resignations.
Keith Harris and David Burns have been under pressure to resign since the League lost a court case against Carlton and Granada, which could leave football clubs out of pocket.
In a statement this evening, the League said: "The Board of The Football League would like to place on record its appreciation for their efforts in what has been a particularly difficult period for The Football League.
"However, it has recently become impossible for them to continue without the wholehearted support of all members and under these circumstances we feel that it is best for all parties, for David, Keith and The League to go their separate ways.
"The Board would like to thank David and Keith for the positive things they have achieved for The Football League and The Board wishes them every success in the future.
"The Football League will now take steps to appoint a new Chairman and Chief Executive in due course. In the meantime the current members of the League executive will manage the day to day business of the League."
