Sky+ Promotional Offer
Published Tuesday, Aug 13 2002, 17:22 BST | By Alan Jay
A source at Sky has told Digital Spy that a promotion for Sky's best customers is about to start.
This promotion will be available to people on the top level of subscription Sport and Movies and who also wish to take advantage of their old Digibox and a mirror subscription. The deal being finalised at the moment (and test marketed with some customer support personnel authorised to offer it to gauge reactions).
The deal is something like this - if you are a Sport & Movies subscriber and want Sky+ and a mirror subscription you will be offered a "special price" £199 along with a reduced subscription £15 (from £10 (sky+) + £12 (Mirror)) saving £7 a month - there will also be a requirement to keep the full package for a minimum period (either 12 or 24 months). Also they won't charge to move your second digibox.
Once the offer goes live it is likely that the monthly discount part will be offered to current subscribers who would have benefited from the offer - ie those of you who have Sky+, Movies and Sport and a Mirror subscription.
As was stated at the Press briefing last week there isn't any plan for a general drop in price for Sky+ but Sky are looking at various "promotional" offerings. In this case a discount to the subscribers who already are Sky's biggest fans.
