Amino has also acquired AssetHouse, whose technology is employed by BT Vision for scheduling, programming and content management, for £1.4m.
Burke, who was chief executive of BT Entertainment while BT Vision was developed, said: "The opportunities here are enormous and are set to change the delivery of rich media to households. This is not only an opportunity for service providers to sell more IPTV, it marks the next step in consumer content delivery and distribution.
"Together, Amino and AssetHouse will close the loop between the set-top box and the merchandising, taking IPTV to the next stage."
AssetHouse chief executive Jonathan Callcut added: "Under the Amino product umbrella we will be able to provide a far richer set of services – our combined expertise and experience will create an exciting proposition, and we’re looking forward to taking it to a market that we know is waiting."
AssetHouse emerged from interactive TV trials run by BT in Colchester in the 1990s and was previously owned by BT and LMS Capital.
