MTV UK has today announced the launch of the Geordie Shore Tweet Tracker app, allowing users to follow the latest tweets from the cast of the show's second series, and see in real-time what is being said about the programme on the microblogging site.
The app features exclusive video content from Geordie Shore, while fans can access a live video stream of the cast tweeting after the show has aired each week.
Geordie Shore, the UK version of MTV's hit US series Jersey Shore, is a non-scripted reality series following the lives of young party animals in Newcastle.
The show's first series brought record ratings for MTV UK last summer, backed up by strong social media activity, including more than 285,000 Facebook 'Likes' and one of the cast members, Charlotte, racking up 175,000 followers on Twitter.
Series two of the show, which welcomes new cast members Ricci and Rebecca, will premiere on MTV on January 31 at 10pm.

Fans will be able to use the free Tweet Tracker app while watching Geordie Shore in a 'second screen' experience.
They can tweet directly from the app and interact with the Geordie Shore cast, as well as track the "rise of fall" of each member on a daily basis via the Geordie Shore popularity charts.
The app also offers fans the ability to monitor the buzz around Geordie Shore-related hashtags and even pinpoint the location of the #GeordieShore tweets.
Alongside the Twitter features, the app hosts exclusive video content and behind-the-scenes footage of the new series.
Dan Patton, the vice president of digital at MTV parent company Viacom International Media Networks, said: "TV viewing is becoming increasingly social; the first series of Geordie Shore created a huge buzz across social networks, with the cast collectively now reaching over one million fans on Twitter.
"We know that the MTV audience uses second-screen devices, such as smartphones, tablets and laptops, to share clips and interact with peers, celebrities and cast members from their favourite shows whilst they watch.
"We developed this dedicated app in order to provide the easiest way for fans to instantly engage with all of the conversations taking place around Geordie Shore as they happen."
Created by London digital agency Acknowledgement, the free Geordie Shore Tweet Tracker app is available now for free on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
