Crap. It wont play DVDs made on my laptop. My only other DVD player in the house only reads DVD-R and -RW discs. Great I thought, I'll get the Philips, it does + and - formats. Using a DVD-RW, I recorded some stuff on it. I then went to play it back in my other DVD player (a philips too I might add), it wasnt gonna play it in 100 years! Rang philips, who were no use whatsoever. After searching on the internet, I deduced it must be recording in VR format on the DVD-RW instead of video format. No where does it mention this in the instructions so beware! A couple of good points - Picture quality when looped through from a STB is excellent, and it will loop it in standby.

I got one of these, had a philips dvdr70 before should have known better then to get more trash, it was an exchange for the faulty dvdr70, thought to myself it looks nice an surely philips have got this one right!!! but how wrong I was it wont reconize discs even though I might have recorded on it already, it skips, and various other minor irritations, should have got a panny.
