Can anyone help. I loved this DVD recorder until today. I have recorded a lot of media onto my recorder but today before i could finish dvd backups it has displayed corupt data and wants me to reformat the disc. Is there anyway i can retrive the data before reformating the disc.

Jimmy, as far as I understand, create dvd-video will only take a copy of what you have on the HDD, it won't reduce the record quality. Instead you need to use HDD to DVD dubbing which will reduce record quality to fit to the dvd and then you finalise it using the option in editing.

If anyone can help. Ive got a Toshiba RD-XS24 HDD/DVD recorder, im having a problem trying to record 8 hours of programs onto a disc, it will not let me record this time, only 4 hours. I whant to record it using Dubbing option, Create DVD-Video. Ive tried to set AV record quality to manual and at a rate of 1.0 which says total recording time approx 468 Minuites/8 Hours but when i try to record onto disc it will not let me, if anyone knows how to set this, please can they let me know what to do. Also i noticed using Dubbing HDD-DVD this does work but i whant to use Create DVD-Video.
