Any one out there got a HDD50? Mine is now 3 years old (an still on original bulb) and still presents a fabulous picture. However, it now changes back to DTV at a whim when watching Sky (attached to HDMI), DVD (again HDMI) or PS2 (connected via SCART). DTV also re-initialises (looks for new channels) several times a day. Has anyone a fix?

I have had a HD45 since April 2006 and no problems except excessive fan noise which Sagem could not stop. Bad on wooden surfaces. Appropriate damping under the unit produces a significant change. Picture excellent and HD very good. No problems with bulbs yet and it was in storage for 4 months while I was overseas. I think it is a great TV and the only negative I can think of is the times it takes to start up and shut down. A small price to pay.

My Axium HD45 has just given up the ghost, the engine has failed and it is just 3 1/2 years old. I was prudent enough to purchase a 5 yr warranty which would have replaced the lamp but it never failed. I now have a Panasonic TH-46PZ81 plasma. Stunning set and lots of features but I still long for the easy-on-the eye image from the Sagem. use the settings recommended in the What Cinema review and the picture will be good

i have the 56b. before you go out to buy a lamp, around £85 on ebay, change the fuse in the lamp casing 0.5amp. i have done this twice now and still going strong. the tv is now 2 years old. so my advice is, invest a £1 buy yourself a couple of fuses.

My (Mark 1) HD50" (3 years old now?) had the same problem. Mine doesn't have a fuse, but following advice on another forum I found the relevant wires, soldered them together and, hey presto, telly works again. TV now thinks there's a new bulb in it every time it switches on. That was over a year ago. Bulb will eventually REALLY fail. Don;t take this as advice - just what I did.

I have a 50" version which since last night won't work, I switch it on it comes on for a few seconds then it switches itself back on too standby... arghhh, any ideas as to why its doing this are most welcome!!!

The reason you are advised against only replacing the fuse and not using an an official lamp is that your TV will not run at full efficiency. Also handling the lamp yourself will shorten its lifespan. I do not know of any manufacturer whom advice customers to use unofficial parts. you do the math. Also, what does the other guy mean about 'design fault?' . Lamps fail...just like any device eventually fails, except this one is designed to run at a contstant light at a very high temperature. Also you need to follow the correct procedures for starting and sutting down your TV, and keep the TV in a clean well ventilated position. Failing to do so amongst other things will shorten the life of your lamp. Perhaps you should do your homework before purchase or use a reputable dealer who will inform you of this info before hand. These Tv's provide a great picture at a great price

Where did you get ahold of a 0.31 Ampere fuse? I've read people are using 0.5A fuses as well. But I'm not sure that's so wise...

I have a 45" and the lamp blew. New lamp installed and nothing....until i replaced the integral 0.315amp 20mm slow blow glass fuse...then joy, it lives again. But Sagem won't tell you because they want you to buy the full housing and lamp.

2 1/2 years old and broken. Fault develops after bulb blows and Sagem don't want to know. What a waste of £2,700. There's a design fault with the 45" and 56" (Same internals).
