I bought one of the original Pure Bug machines in November 2006. I've upgraded it to the latest firmware (v2.2) via the website and am very pleased with it. It now has all of the functions of a Bug 2. Functionally, the Bug is tremendous. The latest firmware adds an EPG so that it now works like a PVR. It seems to have a few bugs but so does my Humax PVR - I'm confident that they'll be resolved in due course. I have a minor problem with my Bug's 'Off' switch. As has been mentioned previously, it takes some getting used to - as it is also the 'select' button, you can navigate to other menus unintentionally. The later 'Bug 2' uses a different button to perform the same function. Its looks are quirky but they do grow on you. Ultimately, DAB audio quality is not up to quality FM standards. This is similar for many other digital devices when compared to their analogue predecessors (Vinyl vs CD; 35mm vs Digital cameras etc). However, the convenience that it offers outweighs this.

Software Version 2.0 is out now and the bug is now very stable and the EPG is very user friendly. It really does bring radio into a new light. Being able to record shows and transfer them to a portable music player has never been so easy. While the bug looks a bit odd, it certainly makes up for this by being a quality piece of kit. You can pick one up now from Amazon for £80.

I've had my Bug for nearly two years now, and have been very pleased with it. Sound quality is good, build quality excellent and the new 2.00 software is superb. It now has full support for the Electronic Programming Guide provided by many companies, giving you seven days worth of programming. It makes it very easy to choose and record up to twenty events, with flexible options such as daily / weekly / weekdays / weekends etc. The ability to pause live radio while you make a cup of tea or want to re-listen to something you missed is wonderful. All in all, a very good buy - you'll be impressed.

I've had The Bug since December 2004 and it's lasted me/lasting me well. The Sound quality is really good, and it has some good features such as the reVu pause/rewind (upto 5 minutes) It can also record to SD card, and you can set timers from the EPG guide in the latest software version, which is currently in BETA. This latest version allows the Bug to receive EPG data broadcast via certain companies which offer it. You can upgrade the software via USB on your PC, and the USB can also be used to transfer stored tracks. You can also wake up to an MP3 (SD card of course) on the latest software. There's multiple alarms, and a clear easy to read display, Audio wise there's EQ Settings depending on what you like. On the bad side, the latest software causes a few problems and sometimes mine crashes in the night and has to be unplugged to get it working again, the buttons can be fiddly to use, noteabally the off/on button. Overall, a good radio, which has nice eyes :D (It's a display option, if you're wondering!)

The bug is one of the best DAB Radios around! Rewind live radio and record it! The SD slot is very usefull because i can put in on my computer and free the SD Memory again and again, also the USB Cable is usefull for that reason. Only fault is the off button, but its easy to get used to.
