Well, where do I start, this is the most dire phone I have ever owned. I received it sometime in early January so have had plenty of time to explore all of its features. The camera is awful, I've yet to manage to take a picture and have it look anything like half way to being in focus or looking like it was taken on anything above a 0.5MP camera. for some reason it also locks the images so when I transfer the images to my PC I can't edit them. You can however edit them on the phone but you can't overwrite the original so you get lost if you have a few pictures as they all start to look quite confusingly similar. The bluetooth profiles are a bit rubbish when syncing with the Parrott CK3100 in car kit I use, it just shows the phone name and 'Network OK', not like any other phone I have used which shows battery, signal, network and allows you to browse the phones phonebook from the handsfree kit. It also is a bit hit and miss with the ringing tones it sends to the handsfree. The keypad isn;t overly responsive, sometimes you have to really concentrate to get the right buttons pressed in order to write a text message, but there is no custom dictionary option so in general writing text messages is a chore. There's also one of those horrendous tiny liitle dust covers on the charge\USB port so unless you happen to have really sharp pointy nails (I haven't) charging your phone is a really frustrating experience. There is also no option to lock the keys if like me you disable the 'slide causes all functions to stop' setting so this means that when you slide the phone down you have to wait before putting the phone in your pocket unless you want to keep randomly calling people. The custom scheme setting is a bit hit and miss as the settings and headings aren't really exactly what they say they are when you are designing your profile so it's a case of set it something like and then have a good old play and then go and see if you can guess which setting might be causing some menus to display the text the same colour as the background, even though you know you set all the text and background colours as opposites. I like monochrome so I set all mine to white or black. Also the 'write the number with a pen' effects of the dial number screen are slow and awful, again you need to carefully and slowly key the number in if you are using that particular odd setting. The PC sync is a bit lacking in some features as well. Importing an existing phonebook was a tedious experience after exporting all my contacts in a standard csv format. For some reason if you use the word 'you' in a text message when the software reads the message to display in the Samsung PC studio it ignores everything after the Y, very odd. I also tried to use my USB lead to charge the phone via a USB cigarette lighter adapter I had in the car, it seemed to work fine but although the battery indicator on the phone showed it as charging it actually does nothing, and further tests show that when you plug it into a PC it does the same thing. It will only charge via the USB lead if it is plugged into a device with the drivers loaded, which is pointless and annoying, especially as the same port isused for charging from the mains or car adapters and for PC sync via the USB lead. Most of these faults are minor niggly things really but I can't understand why it does most of them. Most of them are faults that have been introduced into the newer Samsungs, mainly by removal of functions that were there in the older ones, like the option to lock the keys manually. Other than that though, it's a phone and for making and receiving calls it's not too bad, it's just everything else that lets it down on this occasion. think I'll go back to Nokias, even with they're awfully laid out new menu systems.

The phone is very good and an improvement on the u600 because they got rid of the touch part which would have you phoning your parents at two in the morning. I like the 5mp camera but sometimes its hard to tell that it is 5mp and also you only have the option of 5 message tone because for some reason the message side does not support mp3.
