'Celebrity Apprentice' gets new series

NBC has revealed that there will be a second celebrity version of Donald Trump's The Apprentice in 2009.

The success of the recent installment, which featured Piers Morgan, Lennox Lewis and Gene Simmons, has prompted the network to commission a new run for January 2009.

NBC's Craig Plestis commented: "This revved-up installment of The Apprentice has been a game changer for the series.

"[Producers] are already getting calls from high-profile celebrities who want to challenge themselves in season two."

A second celebrity version of the UK show with Alan Sugar will take place as part of Sport Relief in March.
