A host of new and returning drama series feature in BBC One's November schedules, the corporation has announced today.

Holy Cross is a fictional drama set over a fortnight in Belfast, 2001, telling the stories of two families living on the Ardoyne Road, where a dispute famously arose over catholic schoolgirls walking to school through a protestant area.

Further back in history, Charles II – The Power & The Passion - starring Rufus Sewell in the lead role - focuses on the King's Court, his squabbling family and his glamorous mistresses.

Returning shows include a fourth series of cop drama Merseybeat, promising new subjects such as internet abuse and kidnapping, as well as new episodes of Judge John Deed.
