Strictly Come Dancing notched up its second best audience this year last night (Sunday) as 9.03m (34.5%) tuned in to see actor Don Warrington eliminated from the competition.
The figure is the highest for a results show this year and is up by almost 2 million viewers on last week. Shown over 50 minutes from 8.10pm, Strictly helped knock down ITV1's Heartbeat to 5.71m (22%) in the 8pm hour.
At 9pm, ITV1 gained the lead with the second episode of A Touch Of Frost. 7.7m (33.6%) tuned in over two hours, up slightly on last week's 7.57m (32.8%). BBC One had a strong 5.57m (22.2%) for travel documentary Stephen Fry in America.
Earlier, ITV1's one-off clip show Best Ever Worst Dance Moments, fronted by Justin Lee Collins, drew a decent 4.09m (17.9%) but was no match for BBC One's Antiques Roadshow, with 7.95m (34%) from 7.10pm.
BBC Two's primetime schedule was handed over to live coverage of the final of the Snooker Grand Prix. The game, which John Higgins eventually won 9-7, averaged 1.45m (6.2%) between 8pm and 11pm.
Channel 4 had 1.23m (4.7%) for Wife Swap USA in the 8pm hour, then a solid 1.88m (9.4%) for epic blockbuster Independence Day. Five's rival movie Dirty Dancing finished slightly ahead, with a 1.9m (8.4%) average between 9pm and 11.05pm. Prior to the film, Austin Stevens's Adventures: Rhino Charge picked up 941,000 (3.6%).
ITV1 had an average share of 26.6% (last week: 25.2%) between 7pm and 11pm, although BBC One was a close second with 25.9% (23.1%). After logging a huge 14.6% share last week, Channel 4 was back down to 6.5% and was actually behind Five's 7.2% (4.6%). BBC Two finished last with 5.4% (5.9%).
Live coverage of Spurs vs Stoke City was the top multichannel draw of the day, averaging 1.07m (7.7%) for Sky Sports 1 between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

ITV2 was the multichannel leader, however, with its re-runs of Saturday night's The X Factor. A repeat of the performances show managed 613,000 (3.8%) over two hours from 5pm (+1: 207,000, 1.1%), then the results show delivered 776,000 (3.5%) at 8pm (+1: 79,000, 0.4%).
