Channel 4's nurses drama No Angels has been recommissioned for a second series.

To date, only four episodes of the ten-episode first series have aired, but the show has averaged a healthy 2 million viewers in its Tuesday 10pm slot.

"It's always a risk recommissioning something straightaway, but the strategy is a long-term one and even if there is a dip in audience, that's no bad thing," C4 drama head John Yorke told Broadcast.

"What's important is that we confirm in the audience's mind that there is drama that's fun to watch on C4."
