The sketch show comedienne will team up with Lee Mack for Not Going Out, a comedy which follows lazy flatmates Kate (Tate) and Lee (Mack). The pair will be joined by Tim Vine, from ITV1's The Sketch Show, who plays College, Lee's best friend and Kate's ex-boyfriend.
"It's about growing up and being slackers," a source told the newspaper. "The show centres on the easy-going friendship between Lee and Kate, which wanders on to uneasy ground when Kate nags Lee to get a proper job.
"Things are further complicated when College appears on the scene. Not Going Out shows another side to Catherine. She and Lee make a great team."
The news follows the success of The Catherine Tate Show's second series, which included popular characters Lauren, the schoolgirl who is never bothered, and two-faced grandmother Mrs. Taylor.
Not Going Out will be screened next year.
