CBS has given early renewals to fourteen shows through the 2006-07 season, it was announced today.

The early pickups comprise three freshman series - Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds and How I Met Your Mother - all now guaranteed to make it past the difficult first season.

No-brainer pickups include the entire CSI franchise, 60 Minutes, Two And A Half Men, NCIS, Without A Trace, Cold Case and Numb3rs.

Also returning will be long-running reality series Survivor and The Amazing Race for their 13th/14th and 10th/11th seasons respectively.

"These series are the foundation of a schedule that is broader and deeper than any on television," said Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment. "From the start of the night through 11PM, from Monday through Sunday, CBS is populated with successful programs on every night and in every time period - many of which are number one in their time period, and some even number one on the entire night."

New season renewals and cancellations will trickle through over the coming months in the run-up to this year's Upfronts in May.
