The series, starring Matthew Perry in the lead role, had faced going up against CSI (CBS) and Grey's Anatomy (ABC) in the uber-competitive Thursday, 9pm slot. Taking its place will be the second weekly edition of Deal or No Deal.
Crossing Jordan - originally expected to return in January - now gets a spot in the Fall lineup, airing Fridays at 8pm. Medium, along with Scrubs, is being kept back for midseason.
New comedies 20 Good Years and 30 Rock will face self-starting in the 8pm hour on Wednesdays after flipping with The Biggest Loser. New drama Kidnapped - originally pencilled for Tuesdays at 9 - will close the night on Wednesdays.
Changes are also afoot in the Law & Order universe, with the original series replacing Criminal Intent on Fridays at 10. Said spinoff will instead team up with SVU on Tuesday nights from 9.
"We've enjoyed an extremely successful development season and are going to do what it takes to give each new series the strongest launch we can," explained Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment.
"Now that we've assessed the competitive landscape, we've scheduled our new shows in time periods where we believe they'll succeed and will be supporting them with robust marketing campaigns and the full resources of the network."
