Nadia Sawalha is to host a new BBC cookery show called Eating In The Sun.

The presenter, who won this year's Celebrity Masterchef, wants to make fifteen half-hour programmes under the umbrella of her production company Dog House Media.

A pilot of the show, described as an "eating travelogue", will be filmed in Barcelona next month while the series, if commissioned, would be shot next summer in Italy, France and Spain.

Each episode will see Sawalha take on cooking challenges set by successful chefs.

The 43-year-old quit The One Show in March, after co-presenting the magazine programme with Adrian Chiles since summer 2006.
