'The Last Enemy' defeated by 'Kingdom'

BBC One newcomer The Last Enemy lost out to Kingdom in the battle for viewers last night.

Unofficial figures show 4.2m, or 18% of the audience, tuned in for the new thriller at 9pm while ITV1 took 5.3m (21%).

On BBC Two Around the World in 80 Gardens drew 2.2m (9%) and Channel 4's movie Kingdom of Heaven took 1.9m (10%) from 9-11.45pm. On Five, another movie premiere, Today You Die, gained 1.8m (8%) from 9-10.45pm.

ITV1 dominated teatime too, with Dancing On Ice reliably taking 8.8m (38%) at 6.10pm and Wild at Heart attracting 7.5m (29%) at 7.30pm.

On Saturday, the spoils went to BBC One with The One and Only final defeating the first in a new run of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The reality show drew 6.4m (28%) from 7.30-8.40pm, then 6.3m (29%) saw the results follow-up at 9.40pm. Takeaway, at 8.15pm, took 6.1m (26%).

Manchester United's FA Cup victory over Arsenal, on BBC One from 5.05pm, earned 7.5m (38%) viewers - knocking Harry Hill's TV Burp, on ITV1 at 6.45pm, to 4.8m (21%).
