A popular graphic novel about a blogger and the war on terror is to be made into a television series.

Shooting War, by Anthony Lappé, is a dark thriller about a young writer who gets caught up in the international situation.

Producer Power has taken film and television rights. Its founder Justin Bodle said: "This has to be the graphic novel of 2007. I am delighted that Power now has the opportunity to bring this astute, vivid and brilliant web serial and book to the screen."

"I really respect the kind of material Power develops and produces, and am excited to work with them in bringing Shooting War to life," said Lappé.

Shooting War was created as a serialised comic on the internet before being produced as a graphic novel. The show has not yet been sold to broadcasters.
