Dis/Connected, about the girl's death and the reaction of people who knew her, was due to air at 9pm on Monday.
The channel decided not to go ahead after the body of another teenager was found in Bridgend this week. The 16-year-old girl is thought to be the 17th young person from the town who has committed suicide since January last year.
"Dis/Connected is a drama aimed at a young audience which deals with the emotional build up to the suicide of a teenage girl and the effects which this has on her friends," said a BBC spokeswoman.
"While the drama deals with the issue with sensitivity, after careful consideration we have decided, given the recent tragic events in Bridgend, to postpone the transmission of Dis/Connected until a later date." A new date has not yet been given.
It comes after elements of the media were criticised for coverage of the suicides by the parents of one of the teenagers and police in the case.
Sharon and Vincent Pritchard, parents of Nathaniel, 15, who died on February 15, said reports could "trigger other young people who are vulnerable into attempting to take their own lives".
