The Channel 4 reality show attracted 2.9m, or 13% of the total viewing audience, in the 9pm hour. Brothers and Sisters, about separately raised siblings who later met and fell in love, was watched by 2.7m (12%). The additional 482,000 who watched Big Brother on Channel 4+1 at 10pm put the show even further ahead of its commercial rival.
However, BBC One led the ratings overall with a Euro 2008 match between Austria and Poland. The channel's coverage, shown between 7.30pm and 10pm, was watched by 4.6m (21%).
Heroes won 2.3m (10.5%) for BBC Two from 9pm while Five's House attracted 1.7m (7.6%).
Elsewhere, BBC Four recorded its third largest audience ever thanks to biographical drama Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley. The programme, which charted the former PM's election as an MP in the '50s, was seen by 981,000 (5.2%) between 9pm and 10.25pm.
