Following a shockingly expensive quote for coffins and cemeteries during a trip to the local mortuary, Homer decides that his money could be more wisely spent. Homer and well-spent money have never been a likely coupling, and on discovering that a display model of a commemorative monument has been constructed using the same amount of cement as a tennis court, Homer decides to have the court instead, right in his own back yard.

It isn't long before people from throughout Springfield show up to use the Simpsons' tennis court. After overhearing several people mocking her family during a grocery-shopping trip, Marge decides that the family must take the sport more seriously and enters herself and Homer into a mixed-doubles tournament. During their preparatory training sessions, Bart fills in for Homer, and reveals a natural talent for the game. Marge chooses Bart over Homer and takes him to the competition as her partner. Lisa and Homer are understandably put out by this turn of events and launch a counter-attack. The Simpson family is somewhat out of their depth, however, when special guest stars, Venus and Serena Williams, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi take to the courts, and so return home to their beloved sofa to watch the match instead.

Probably the most exercise that Homer will take in years. How can you afford to miss it?
