David Jason is set to return to ITV1 in the role of D.I. Jack Frost in a new two-part special to be screened on Sunday, January 27 and Monday, January 28.

The special episode of A Touch of Frost is written by David Gilman, and is entitled 'Mistaken Identity'. Starring alongside Jason include Susan Penhaligon, who plays the role of psychiatrist and criminal profiler Pam Hartley. Regular cast members Bruce Alexander, John Lyons, James McKenna and Arthur White also feature, alongside Michelle Joseph who appears for the first time in the drama as D.I. Frost's feisty new assistant, D.C. Lonnegan.

When a body is found in a local reservoir, Frost and his team soon discover links with the murder to a crime that happened ten years earlier. After a couple are brutally burned to death, Frost finds himself hunting for one of the most ruthless and driven killers he has encountered in his entire career.

Desperate for a lead before the killer strikes again Frost enlists the help of Pam Hartley, who also brings some long deserved romance back into his life. Pam however is already involved in the case in a way that she or Frost could never imagine.

A Touch of Frost - 'Mistaken Identity' airs January 27 and 28 across the ITV1 network.
