With just a month to go until the big day, how are the nerves?
Rick: I'm alright actually because it's probably my third or fourth T4 On The Beach. Although I was never doing the main show, I very much did the baby steps, whereas if I was Jam Jam I would be very nervous because she's being thrown in the deep end!"
Jameela: "I'm going to wear a nappy probably! I'm fairly terrified but I'm really looking forward to it."
Rick: "I'll be there to hold your hand, so what could possibly go wrong? Well, apart from all the obvious things like getting your words wrong, swearing on live television..."
What advice have the other presenters given you Jameela?
Jameela: "Just to relax and be myself and enjoy it."
Rick:: "Really? See, I would say try not to be yourself because I think you're more likeable when you are trying to be somebody else."
Jameela: "I always have him to boost my confidence..."
Rick: "I'm always here with a kind word and a shoulder."
Who are you most looking forward to seeing?
Rick: "I don't think I could just say one, but I like the fact that we have Tinchy Stryder and N Dubz because I like those guys and you know they will get the crowd going."
Jameela: "Yeah, they're a lot of fun. And also the Noisettes!"
Rick: "They are amazing and I've been a big fan for ages so it's nice that they're finally doing well and are charty enough for us to book them. I'm also looking forward to Dizzee Rascal."
Jameela: "I actually presented with him yesterday and he was great and a lot of fun. You really know when he's in a room, so he's going to be amazing on stage!"
The full lineup still hasn't been revealed. Who would be your dream headliner?
Rick: "It would be good to get someone like Katy Perry because you know the kids would go mental... mental in a good way, though."
Jameela: "Or Beyoncé."
Rick: "Yeah, try and be a bit more realistic there! 'Hey, Beyoncé do you want to come down to Weston-super-Mare?' 'Where?'"
Jameela: "I also love the Kings of Leon but again, maybe not... although they're doing the V Festival."
Rick: "To be fair, the first year I went Busta Rhymes was there. I just loved the idea of Busta Rhymes arriving and getting on the phone to his manager and going, 'I didn't realise this was the deal actually... I don't know where I am!'"
For anyone making their first trip to Weston-super-Mare, what advice would you give about festival essentials?
Rick: "Not wellies - you need sun tan lotion! I got burned to a crisp last year and it was horrible. Also, a lot of water because people will get panicky with excitement, hyperventilating..."
Jameela: "At the thought of seeing you! I've been advised that the most important thing in your wardrobe should be a solid skirt or a pair of trousers because it's fairly breezy."
Rick: "And no one wants to see your nappy, do they?"
Jameela: "Well, some people might but that doesn't mean I'm going to give it to them. Maybe I could get a year's supply of free Pampers though... okay, lets get off the nappy page!"
Lots of people assume you always become friends with the stars you are interviewing. Is that really the case?
Rick: "Sometimes you do, but you don't want to be too pushy and say, 'Maybe, we can go have a drink sometime?' Although, I know that has happened with some other members of the team..."
Do you still get starstruck?
Rick: "It's actually really bad if you do, because you can always tell and it doesn't make for a good interview. But when I interviewed Alex James I was very excited because I was a massive Blur fan when I was a kid. Maybe George Clooney too."
Jameela: "I got to arm wrestle The Rock recently and that was definitely a defining moment in my life!"
Did you win?
Jameela: "Yes, I did! Don't underestimate these bingo wings, thank you!"
T4 On The Beach takes place on Sunday 19 July in Weston-Super-Mare. The event will be broadcast across Channel 4 and 4Music. For more info, go to www.channel4.com/t4onthebeach
