Trisha Goddard is odds-on favourite with the bookies to take over from Cilla Black on ITV's Blind Date.
Producers are currently mulling a replacement for Cilla, who announced her decision to quit on Saturday after almost 18 years presenting the dating show.
"This has been entirely Cilla's decision and we completely respect her for it," said Paul Jackson, Granada's head of entertainment, today. "We would like to thank Cilla for giving us 18 fantastic years."
Daytime talkshow host Goddard, who previously claimed that she had been approached for the show whilst Cilla was still at the helm, is the bookies favourite to take over, with odds of 3-1.
Popstars presenter Davina McCall is second favourite with odds of 4-1, whilst Geordie presenting duo Ant & Dec are 8-1. Also in the running is SM:tv Live host Brian Dowling with odds of 10-1 and Jerry Springer on 33-1. 'Society girl' Tara-Palmer Tomkinson is the rank outsider at 100-1.
