
The channel will get a new logo and a 20% increase in its annual budget, controller Richard Woolfe said.
A live special called Noel's HQ, which it is hoped could lead to a series, is described as "the antidote to broken Britain".
"It is a fantastically feelgood show," said Woolfe "It is not a telethon, it's not about money, it is about what people can do and how we can inspire people to acts of human kindness and transform lives."
Reality documentary Hairspray: The School Musical, in which schoolchildren will attempt to put on a West End production, will also begin on Sky One in the autumn.
